Phone your Public Officials
1. Have your Representative's information in front of you.
2. Dial the phone number to the office of your Representative.
3. Speak clearly, whether you are leaving a message or talking to the secretary. Below are two templates of what you can say but, feel free to change it to work best for you.
4. #1 My name is your first and last. I am a constituent in your district. I am calling to ask for your support for Head Start this session. Thank you for your time Representative their
last name.
5. #2 Hello, my name is your first and last. I am a Head Start parent/staff in your district. (you can say how long you have been in the HS program, share something about HS that has helped you or your child/family, it is up to you). I am calling because I want your support for Head Start in this session. Thank you so much for your time Representative their
last name.
6. You have help to increase state funding for another Head Start child by making one phone call, thank you. We know Head Start works for parents and children, let's spread the word so more children and families can be benefited by Head Start.
